Rhubarb meringue cake

Rhubarb meringue cake-5929

This is a german classic every café or bakery would sell this cake. Depends on the time of the year the topping could also be made with red currents which is actually my favourite. Apple cake -5427On a sunday in Germany it was custom for our parents to have coffee and cake in the afternoon, often there would be visitors a time to catch up and having a rest. I bake that cake for years, it is easy and quick. Russian Tea Cakes (Shortbread)

Ruusian Tea cakes-5333

Those shortbreads remind me very much of Vanilla Kipferl one of my favourites at Christmas time or Kourabiethes the greek almond shortbread.
